In lieu of writing detailed descriptions of each game, which has turned out to be a terribly long process, I have decided to write in detail about the games that warrent it and a brief description about the games that are not as exciting or do not effect the standings as much. This is in an effort to get on with the actual games and work toward the playoffs and championship. I have finished the 2nd week of the season, and after writing those games up I will post the standings and league leaders again.

What is This?
For those of you who don't know what Strat-o-Matic is, it is a card game that bases player performance on actual statistics accumulated by that player in that particular year. To play, you roll 3 dice (1 that is one color, representing the column, and 2 that are a different color, representing the row) and look at the corresponding action. Example : I roll the 3 dice and comes up 2 for the column and 9 for the row. If Willie Mays is up to bat in 1962, 2-9 is a Homerun. But, for example, 2-9 for Orlando Cepeda in 1962 is a groundball to third base. There are many more intricacies to the game but those are the basics.
One of the main draws for me as a "strat" player is matching up different teams from different years. My vision for this blog is to write about each game played in my season as if being written for a newspaper or website. You should know that during the actual playing of these games I do not favor any particular team but in my writings I'm sure you'll come to see my favorites.
I have purposefully used teams from different eras and different playing styles to make the season as interesting and as fun as possible. These are all teams that I enjoy and I think that will bring flavor and excitement to the games I write about.

- 1961 New York Yankees (Bronx Bombers)
- 1962 San Fransisco Giants
- 1971 Baltimore Orioles
- 2001 New York Yankees (the Pinstrips)
The Deal
The season is 40 games long, each team playing one another 8 times. 4 teams make the playoffs, where there will be 2 rounds of 7 game series. The top ranked team at the end of the 40 games will play the team that finished in 4th and the 2nd ranked team will play the team that finished in 3rd. The winners of the 2 series will play for the World Series.
